Who are we ?

Science Welcome is an association created on the 20th of April 1999, which gathers together most of the research and academic centres of the area as well as the Communauté d'Agglomération du Plateau de Saclay.
It stems from the welcome structure organized by the Communauté d'Agglomération du Plateau de Saclay in June 1997.

Science Welcome is the mobility centre (Euraxess Services Centre) for scientists and guests of Essonne and Yvelines departements, in South of Ile-de-France. Science Accueil Evry, our annex in Evry,  is the Euraxess Local Contact Point of this area.

Science Accueil and Science Accueil Evry are members of the association Euraxess France which groups together all the French Euraxess Services Centers. Euraxess France is the only interlocutor of ministries and European Commission on the questions of the scientific mobility in France. Science Accueil seats on the board of directors of this association and participes so in decision-making concerning the welcome of the researchers on a national scale.

Purpose of the association

The aim of Science Welcome is to help people coming for professional purposes and for a temporary stay to find living accommodations and to group together all the informations (administrative procedures, housing, French courses, leisure, ...) which may be of use to them then and later during their stay, if they need to contact a particular service or person.

Science Welcome doesn't work alone, but uses all the facilities of our national and local partners to welcome you.

Science Welcome is member of BRACE (Regional Office of Foreign Researchers). This organization is managed by Cité internationale universitaire de Paris and supported by Conseil Régional of Ile-de-France. As part of this regional network, Science Welcome can propose furnished accommodations to foreign researchers that mobility centres of Ile-de-France receive. Those mobility centres are : BACE (Paris), CMPN (North of Paris) and BiCi (Marne-la-Vallée).

So Science Welcome can propose accommodation to all the guests of establishments which are members of our association and to foreign researchers and PhD of Paris, Paris 8 university (St-Denis), Paris 13 university (Villetaneuse / Bobigny), Supmeca (St-Ouen) and Marne-la-Vallée, if they come from mobility centres only.
