Touristic visits
Saturday the 13th of December: guide tour of Parisian bridges
With Office de Tourisme de la Vallée de Chevreuse, we propose on the 13th of December, a bilingual (French/English) visit of Parisian bridges. With a guide, you'll discover the different bridges between the Pont Neuf and the Alexander the 3rd bridge. You will then be free to finish this nice walk on the illuminated Champs-Elysées.
Participation fees: 10 euros per person, free for children until 16 years.
Memories of visit of Rambouillet
With Office de Tourisme de la Vallée de Chevreuse, we have proposed on the 11th of October, a bilingual (French/English) vist of Rambouillet, pleasant and historical city of arts, located in the large forest of Yvelines.  With a guide, 29 researchers and 3 children have discovered the city and the park of presidential castle ; the Bergerie Nationale (National Sheepfold) where they have seen a demonstration of care of animals ; then they have visited in the Palais du Roi de Rome the exposition of tapestry works of Annie Christy.
Those visits are organized for all guest researchers, PhD students, MBA of HEC registered at Science Accueil and their families. For information or registration, contact Science Accueil
- French cooking workshops
From September 2008
Learning French with ALFAP Association... It's learning French cooking as well! So Science Accueil and ALFAP propose to foreigner visitors cooking workshops a Saturday afternoon at a French's house in Gif-sur-Yvette where the participants are invited to prepare a meal and to share it together with the hostess and the other guests in a friendly atmosphere.
Each workshop starts at 4 p.m. for 5 participants maximum. Participation fee for one session is 35 euros or 15 euros for ALFAP members. Reservation can be made to Science Accueil
- Activity for young mums and their babies
Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
If you are a mum with young children this is the activity for you! During the year, AVF organises different activities and visits specifically aimed at toddlers and pre-school children. Come and meet other mums, make friends, share experiences and hopefully find answers to the questions posed by living abroad.
