In France, the postal service is carried out by "La Poste", which is represented in all cities and most villages by a post office.

Besides the sending and distribution of letters and parcels, La Poste also provides a number of other services, both postal and banking.

All the different rates can be found in the booklet called "Tarifs généraux", which you can obtain by simply asking at any post office. The rate depends on the country of destination. It is useful to know, however, that standard letters (less than 20g) can be franked with a 0,60 euros stamp for anywhere in France or other European Union country. Post cards only need a 0,55 euros stamp.
